Thank you for putting your daughters story here for everyone to see. I am sure it hard to see and hear the stories, but it also brings awareness to the situation. Distraction in a vehicle kills people daily and can come from many sources. I lost my best friend Sharla in 1991 (before cell phones were so popular) to a car accident where the other driver also a teen was arguing with her boyfriend while she was racing home to meet her curfew. She ran a red light and our car rolled several times. My friend was killed instantly and the other driver died a week later. This incident has forever change Sharla’s friends and family’s lives forever. You can never take back what you have caused by a moments bad decision. Sometimes you have to live with your decision if you are lucky enough to live, but your family will always have to live with your bad decision.

This story was sent to everyone in my company here in Texas…do know your message is getting out! I still pray for your strength…time does not always lessen the pain. Do you know if there is a statistic of adult fatalities for texting while driving??

    Niqole,

Thank you very much for your comment and for sharing your story here. Know that Heather’s parents will read your words.

Also, I apologize for this late response. The site is new and I had configured the comment notification settings a bit differently than I had done previously on other blogs.

    Best,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Your beautiful daughter seemed to be such a sweet girl. I was nearly killed by a drunk driver on Halloween of 06. I know what my parents went through with that and my condolances definately go out to you, her family and friends! I want to thank you for being so courageous and making the very best out of a tragic situation! I KNOW God is smiling upon you. Thank you for hanging your pain out there for others to learn from! I truely hope people learn from your loss. I can only imagine how proud of you Heather must be. Please stay strong, stick together and don’t lose hope. You are so amaising in sharing your families loss with the world in hopes of saving someone else’s child. WOW! Will you please ask someone to give you a hug for me? Once again, I am oh so sorry for your pain and struggles in losing Heather, however I am so proud of you for sharing the worst moments of your lives with the sole purpose of saving others’! GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you! •NiQoLe
